    The IRS is actively issuing notices to applicable large employers (ALE), known as Letter 226-J.  The letter notifies ALEs that they may be liable for an employer shared responsibility payment. The letters employers are receiving now relate to 2015 ACA reporting.  Employers have 30-days from the date on the letter to respond.

    Don't wait! After reviewing the information, the employer should make any additional updates and changes they deem necessary and submit their response by the deadline date outlined within the notice. Failing to respond is the equivalent to agreeing to the proposed penalty outlined in the 226J notice.
